MAYOR’S WELCOME MESSAGE
Welcome to Dunsborough SongFest 2017
Now in its 8th year, the Dunsborough SongFest has an impressive program with 30 groups and 500 singers. A significant number of these singers return year after year, supporting the event since its inception.
National and State choirs will join a host of talented local groups to deliver a jam-packed program over three days. With 12 concerts and 8 workshops at various Dunsborough venues, this festival of song will make our community’s heart sing. This year see the culmination of two major concerts on the Saturday night which is sure to prove popular with audiences.
I would like to extend a special welcome to all visiting artists, including the ongoing patronage of the incredibly talented ENEKSIS vocal ensemble from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
Every year, this home-grown festival gets bigger and better thanks to the fantastic efforts of the dedicated team of volunteers and talented singers. It’s wonderful to see such a dedicated and passionate group of people, sharing their love of music and song with the wider community. I would also like to thank the patrons, for supporting Dunsborough SongFest – a show is not a show without an audience!
Dunsborough SongFest has become firmly entrenched in the City’s annual event calendar and the City of Busselton is very proud to sponsor this event.
I hope you all enjoy the inspiring and uplifting singing and I wish to see you all back in 2018.
